Rougir de Désir in twilight
“… I am but a shadow and you a bright shining light!” Poetry pervades the semi-dark stage, as a voice borrows these few words from Cyrano de Bergerac. To a harrowing and pervasive song by Antony & The Johnsons, a sensual and poignant choreography begins. The silhouette of the dancer braces herself against the shadow of a couch, pushes, repels it, finally espousing and resting on it. Playfully wielding her assets, her wrists, high heels, knees – she slowly reveals herself before your eyes… Below the curves she forms, the gaps are undone, reshaped and the rise and fall of her movements are bathed in half-light: here, on stage, this woman reveals herself to you. Swaying between frailty and self-confidence, uncertainty and hope, in the intimacy of the twilight, her emotions are laid bare before you.
Art at the cutting edge of technology
Thanks to this technical prowess, the dancer creates halos of intimacy on stage, unveiling luscious lips or the gentle brush of a hand. Over there, the elegant movement of an arm draws the line of a glowing horizon. The soloist, dressed in fine lingerie by Fifi Chachnil and wearing Louboutin heels, deftly plays with the lights she’s bathed in. The quick or caressing movements along her skin will have you blushing with desire, like a ruby confronted with a solitaire diamond before an amethyst backdrop.
